Got the same thing as others have described - computer voice recording left on my answering machine saying it was the IRS and I am about to be charged with tax fraud and "someone from the courthouse is likely going to come arrest me" unless I called this number back. Didn't seem legit for a second.
Scam Call from IRS agent wanting money to stop fraud charges from being filed against me-this is the second type of these calls I have received-last time from Florida. Do not send these people any money! When I told him I worked for Fed govt and asked his if number, he hung up abruptly.
A man keeps leaving messages on my phone from this number claiming that he is from Washington and there is a notice of tax fraud against my name. If I don't want it to go to the federal court and get arrested I should call him back at this number.
I turned the tables on them. Got a cheap cell phone and told them I was calling from the dept. of men with tiny [***] and for implants press one and so on!
