Came home from work and found an auto-mated message on the land line stating that we were being sued by the IRS and were told to call back for more information. It freaked me out for a moment and I contacted my husband whom quickly put my perspective back into reality and told me to research the number. Behold, I read many reviews about this scam and I felt like an idiot for falling for it, even if it was just for a minute. Do not answer calls from this number and don't call back. The police has informed me to block the number as well.
Got a call yesterday afternoon from this number. They left a message to call them about the IRS. I wanted to play with them so I called after 8PM. Their voice mail was full. They called again this morning. I called them back. Got an [***] sounding man who called himself Mike Brown IRS officer. And I said in a very meek tone that I'm calling about the IRS filing on me. Then with my voice rising and getting aggressive I said I just want to ask one question... "Are you an f'ing a$$hole or what? The IRS doesn't act like this!!" I guess I offended him. He hung up.
