I refused to on one of the at least 20 or more calls and these scamming [***] had my entire SS number.....very scary!! I record all calls on my cell phone so will be contacting FDA and FBI if need be!!
I got a recording telling me "this is a legal matter" and that I should call them back or hold for someone to get on the phone. Nope, I did not. I looked the number up and here I am. I did call back, but the phone just rang, which let me know they are scams. If they were legit, someone would answer the phone and/or I should have gotten a recording to what type of business I just called. So, don't get scared, people will use all kinds of scare tactics to make you pay a debt that may not be yours. I'm just happy we have this little thing called the internet these days, so we can find the truth out about these people. One more thing, I got another call like this last week about a 1998 debt (that has been discharged and/or including in my bankruptcy) they use the threat of criminal charges for theft by deception. I laughed at them and said good luck with that and hung up. The nerve.... good luck!
