Its some fundraising organization. They wouldn't state their name. They call me every morning at the same time and ask for me, and when told that I am not home and asked for their name, they hang up.
Have had so many calls from this scam group that I am beginning to recognize the voice of the guy who calls. He not only works the police charity scam - but also does time for the fake veterans charity. Is not a real charity group - they change their numbers all of the time, and hence is no way to block them. Not answering the phone doesn't stop these calls either.
Caller ID simpy said: AA 206-792-7677 ... I sent it directly to the FAX machine! That FAX squeel will get tiring after repeatedly calling. I don't believe that the caller is a legitimate fundraiser for anything.
Called and left a message (we weren't home) saying "Stephen, is Stephen there?"...silence, then "Stephen?", finally hung up. The caller ID has their number and AA as the name of the caller.
I received a "Police Funds" pitch also. These are a common scam or phishing call. It's quite common for scammers to use this sort of charity, including firefighters and veterans, to solicit funds for completely phony organizations. Who can say no to police officers or veterans? If you have any interest in any charity at all, have them send you a packet in the mail. And then take your time in checking them out.
