Not true, skeeter. You can sue for harrassment, however, since you work in the legal field I suppose you know that you have to go to the area the culprit is living in in order to bring about a lawsuit. As this stands, everybody would have to go to San Antonio, Texas to file a lawsuit, and then go back for whatever hearings, or call for production of documents, motions, certificates of service, etc., and file them personally (unless you can afford a lawyer in the vicinity.) Depends on where you live whether or not it would be beneficial to proceed with a lawsuit. This is obviously why many of these characters live so far away. They feel they are protected by distance because who has the time and the money in these tough economical times?
Received a call and answered it from garage phone...no caller ID on that phone...They asked for me and I said "she's not home right now, can I take a message?" The foreign lady on the other end asked if anyone in the household had diabetis. I went off on her then and told her that I told them no the last time they called and to quit calling and I hung up. Checked caller ID when I got in the house and it was this cell phone number. No other identifying info except the number.
We received three calls today from this number. My wife handed the telephone to me as she coul not understand what the female was trying to say. I too could not understand what she was saying, but she seemed to be saying something about a "group."
Use Selective Call Rejection
Selective Call Rejection allows you to program your phone to reject calls from any number you place in the rejection list. When your service is turned on, any caller in this list will hear an announcement that you're not accepting calls at this time. All other calls will ring through as usual. To use this service, follow these steps:
Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
Press
*60 (on a rotary phone, dial 1160).
Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored in your rejection list.
Follow the voice instructions and press 3 to turn the feature on or off.
All steps complete.
To add the last caller to your rejection list:
Press #01# (on a rotary phone, dial 1201).
To hear the phone numbers on your list:

After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.
