they call saying i owe them money the guy's name is james watson, didn't say what company he worked for just i need to call him back and gave me this number, they call all the time under blocked id and private.
They called me seven times today and when I was finally able to get through to them and the guy told me what it was I was furious. I told him to stop, I had never had a payday loan and that I was reporting them to the FTC and my state attorney general's office. He transferred me to his supervisor who apologized and then hung up. I did let the FTC know that they have my information though- ss#, address, phone, etc.
I got a message on my cellphone asking to speak to my husband stating not to disregard this message and my God help us if he did not call back for whatever may unfold upon you.A few mths back I visited a payday online site and filled it out, but decided against it because of the fees. I answer the phone the next time I see the number and tell them my husband is not home so they speak to me and tell my my husband will be charged with loan fraud, they will call his job and he will probably lose the job etc. So I ask them, has a letter been sent to our address about this matter, no they say it has been e-mailed. I tell them that I will go to my bank tommorow to research this issue and to see if any money has every been depoisted without my knowledge because I feel like this is a scam, and he tells me if you do that I will download your case right now, I said good bye. This is such a scam but what scared me is that had the last four digits of my husbands social security number and the name of my mother and sister-in-law due to the filling out of the application. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do about that.
i too made the mistake of putting out my info for a payday loan and in june 2009 started to get phone calls that you can tell are being read word for word.they told me the same thing i was being sued but would not tell me the attorney of even an amount. call come up with fake numbers with area codes that do not exist or opmniscient marketing 1-203-455-0725.they called my employer and told them i was being sued and after calling 6 times in a row told my employer that they too were going to be included in this suit. went to police station to file complaint and the officer called this person who has changed their name fom dan wilson to dean jones to jack thomas.told the officer i was being sued for a loan taken out in june.she asked if papers were filed and he too said i was sent an email. officer told him who now is named martin brown and would not give his dob but requested her badge number,to file paper if this was true but he stated it was a small amount and no paperwork was involved. she told him to stop calling me & my employer or she would issue an arrest warrant.calls stopped for a month then started 4 days ago.can barely speak english. called back (always a california number given)left voicemail as to police report and so on. received another call today now stating he was a police officer i returned call and stated he police report again and i was not taking further action. he said he wouldnt call but did call my friend who was listed as a ref. and said she was to be sued also because of a complaint from me and stated she was calling from stratford ct police .hopefully this will be the last and she stated she would also file police report. sorry i ever started this.very frustrating and not much you can do since they do not use there real names. will have to file another report or hire an attorney.that my time and my money.i have used payday lenders before but always used a direct lender and never had a problem, only the ones that fan out your info. i wish i could find them and sue them for harrassment.
I received a call at work from this number it was a man with a heavy indian accent, said his name was Max Anderson asking for my bank information and social security number.This person was rude and also fumbling with words, stating I was being prosecuted and 3 warrants were out for my arrest. I simply asked him who is he representing and he said financial accountability association, gave a fake los angeles address and a florida zip code. He would not tell me how much I owed and refused to send a verification of debt. I informed him i would be following up with the federal trade commision and the California attorney generals office and I have not had anymore phone calls and this happened Monday 8,2009. Read about consumer rights on the FTC website and when talking to these people you can address them accordingly. Know your rights.
