Just got a call and voicemail from this number. The message got cut off but it was a computer-generated women's voice asking me to call them back (same number) in order to access my "grant".
How can I stop this? I regularly get 4-5 of these types of calls every week.
This person called me (Indian accent) $4000 federal grant. Wanted a deposit of $170.give me a break. The feds use more paper than the rest of us combined.
I received a call from this number today, 239-719-1670 and it was a recording told me to call the number back, I was approved for a 4000 dollar grant from the government. Since I know the Government doesn't send prerecorded phone calls for grants or student loans I ignored it. After reading these posts I realize I was smart in ignoring them, and I blocked them from calling my phone. It is amazing how people think of ways to steal from hard working people. My suggestion to anyone is when you receive something that seems suspicious, google the number, and sites like these pop up and tell you everything you need to know about the scam.
I received a call from 239-719-1670 saying they were from the U.S. Grants Department & said I received a $4000 grant. Even gave me a pin number. PLEASE find out who these frauds are so that NO senior citizens get duped!!!
