The FTC polices businesses that hire telemarketers. Both FTC and FCC have strict rules that must be adhered to and both can come crashing down on companies that do not follow the rules, by imposing court actions and lofty fines.
this number calls every day to ask if i want to go back to school , every day i say NO and to take me off their list .. and they dont its harassing now
These idiots keep calling and calling, usually when I am at work and not allowed to take calls on the shop floor (anybody who NEEDS to contact me in an emergency knows to call the front office). THey never leave a message. THey are already violating the law as my number is on the "Do Not Call" list, and their calls are unsolicited.
the call from 239-719-1994 is on behalf of American Financial - a co. who reps insurance companies and gets paid to provide insurance agents people interested in quotes. American Financial is legit. it's the call center in India who is sending them leads that is not. Sorry to give the guys in india a bad rap AGAIN, but... American Financial doesn't even know that this call center is acting this way. if you get the call - tell them you ARE interested and get transferred to an agent. once there, tell the agent the line is bad and ask them to call you right back. when they do, now tell them what happened, give them the number that just called you and ask to be put on DNC. if they get enough calls of this nature, they are forced to deal with the bad call center - and if they choose not to and ignore the problem, then the FTC and/or FCC can deal with it. and they will, believe me. Report this type of call just like i have here, to the board where it will be evidence against the lead buyer (American Financial) when the time comes. Good Luck, folks!
