Kelly Thomas is not a real person. It's an automated recording. Whether it's Sallie Mae or India, you do NOT have to answer or give them a damn bit of your information. I have loans with Sallie Mae, and I am forever bound by the massive chains of debt to these [***]. True, I made the mistake of going through them, but they have loans that you absolutely CANNOT get out of nor can you get much relief in paying them back. Don't ever do business with them. EVER.
this is sallie mae. they blow up my phone constantly. i love how they call you and then want you to provide your social security number & all that....excuse me?! you called me idiots....you verify just who the hell you are! i do have sallie mae accts and they can never help me with my issues....like not getting any bills and haven't been able to log on to my accts since jan 2013, sure they act like they are going to help me and are all nicey nicey but i have not paid them one red cent since they can't their sh*t together. i don't care if it "screws" up my credit. i don't have any to screw up...so don't care. if they would fix my problem with the online log in & i will pay them & then they won't have to call me. so go ahead sallie mae and pay somebody a wage for trying to harass me....cuz that's what caller id is for!!!!
This is Sallie Mae. I talked to a "lovely" female representative tonight and she claims they can call up to 8 times a day. I explained that is harassment because they are leaving messages each time they call. FDCPA states that once a message is left they CANNOT keep calling. Dont get me wrong, harassment is in the ear of the beholder, but maybe if they got slapped with a nice CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT they would stop. I'm not in this for the money by any means. But something has got to stop the harassing calls. They also block their phone numbers and call from other phone numbers like 909-259-0292. We have told them that the bill will be paid online on the 30th. She then said we would still get calls for another 3 to 5 days, even after we get an email confirming it and the money has been taken out of the account. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!
It all depends on the state I believe. For instance, where I am no company, organization, or collector can call outside the hours of 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and I will get calls as early as 6:30 in the morning to 11:30 at night. They also cannot legally call on Sundays, but either myself or my parents will get multiple calls. I have even had both my phone companies tell me that it is not a legit business if they are making those calls in the state. I have also been advised against them because they ask for personal information to verify who I am, but I am not dumb enough to give that out over the line and when I told them that they hung up on me. Also, when I tried to report them to the Better Business Bureau I was sent an email that stated the number was not connected with a business.
