Numbers with '000' in the middle are getting around the DNC list - I read that somewhere - so beware! Also most of these calls are on a robo-call set up they dial about 10 numbers at a time hoping one will answer so when one does, the other 9 get hung up on. Be smart, if you have caller ID just don't answer. They will never leave a message for you to call back if they hit an answering machine or voice mail they hang up. I wish there was a better way to report these 'twits'. But hopefully sites like this one will prevent others from getting scammed.
Just for giggles keep a log of these numbers. This is the 4th '000' number to call me in just about as many weeks trying at different times - I never answer, even when I am home. I suspect it is the same company just a different extention.
Says they Account Services and that our Visa or Mastercard company called me with the recording about reducing my interest rate on our credit card. I pushed the 9 on my phone to talk to find out what company was calling me, tell them we are on the do not call list, and especially to remove me from their call list. The woman who answered told me that by pushing the 9 button on my phone that technically I called THEM! This sure seemed like a slimy way of getting around the "do not call" list! She wasn't able to tell me which Visa or Mastercard they were calling about, or tell me what better rate they could give me. I hope this company can be tracked down and stopped!
They change phone numbers and their stories alot. They are scammers. DONT CALL THEM BACK. You might be charged with international calls. Thats what they want you to do. Dont even leave your name on your voicemail.
I am called frequently and today when I stayed on the line to talk to someone as soon as they found out I was not interested in the credit card deal they disconnected the line.
