I received 6 calls from this number claiming they are calling from a credit card company to lower my interest rate. I called my credit card company and was informed this is a scam.

This number is a "spoofing number", meaning it is not the number it is from. The calls are not coming from Miami, they are made to look that way…..they are coming from a call center outside the US, but from a US company.
you MUST REPORT this number and ANY NUMBER these people use to the FTC…*AND* the FCC.
You can call them or file online. They can work together to rid this problem, but ONLY IF YOU REPORT
THESE SCUMBAGS. I'm sick of getting these calls….it is a "credit card service" but really just a SCAM.

if you don't….the calls will not stop……blocking the number does no good….they numbers appearing on caller ID are NOT the numbers the calls are coming from.
I received a call tonight, they wanted to lower my interest rate on my credit card to 6%. I asked the 'gentlemen' which one (I have several different ones). He said "your Chase Visa". I asked him which one (I have 3 Chase Visa's). He said, "your Chase". I again repeated "Which Chase Visa". He replied with "what are you stupid?" The conversation ended with me telling him to jump off a tall bridge and hung-up. He called back directly to continue the conversation. I've blocked them from my numbers and am calling the credit card companies.
i get this all the time. best thing to do is leave a whistle by the phone and when someone answers just blow the whistle. i have also slammed the phone down on a hard surface a few times and it really pisses them off. a matter of fact i did it today and the guy called me back, called me a [***] and said die!!! if everyone did this these jerks will stop calling!! try it......it's sooo much fun!!!!
