It's a scam. They have been calling off and on for about a year. Different phone numbers, different people who call, but it's always the same message. I block the numbers once I get a new one.
The one today said it was an attorney but didn't give me his name. They make it sound official so they scare you into paying. But don't give any information or verify any information over the phone. I believe if it is legitimate they would send me something to my home address. I've lived at the same address for 20 years so it shouldn't be hard to contact me if they are legit.
Same old scam of husband and wife team. GHETTO....Just calling from a new number. Amazing two years later nothing has happened.
When you have an attorney call them, they state you forfeited your rights hiring an attorney (huh?) and good luck in court now.
They have been calling for months saying my husband has a warrant. Went as far as calling MY 80 year old grandparents. They believed every word of their crap. Trying to explain to them this is a scam is like giving a cat a bath. :( I'm so disgusted I don't know what to do!! I gave them my attorneys number and told them to contact him. The calls stopped for a few months but today they started back up again!!
This number call me today stating an summons has been order to a name I haven't used in years. The phone # 313-556-2618 is saying fradulent activity was used with my ssn. This is a fraud and I am reporting them.
Recording saying that this is final attempt to collect a debt but ultimately just makes a bunch of threats by recording and says to call a certain number. Ends with saying good luck in court lol. I've been receiving a bunch of spam debt collectors that are legitimate lately and I'm not sure if these guys also belong to the group. I'm sure its either fraud or some stupid company going overboard on a minor debt, either way I think I'll take them up on their best wishes ;-)
