I received the call today 10/14/15 at 4:00 p.m. Please stop this scam! I was asked to call 314-449-9340 because a lawsuit has been filed against me by the IRS. I called the number and asked for their mailing address to give to our sheriff's office and the foreign lady hung up on me. She could barely speak English so I was surprised she could understand what I said.
Fake IRS lawsuit notification. These knuckleheads are trying to change it up a bit. Everyone knows the voice of the guy who usually does these, so they are now using a programmed female voice to try for a more legitimate tone.
I've had 2 today so far from 832-398-5017. I knew what it was on the first call. I've tried to call back but no answer.
the IRS won't call you. If they did it would be from an 800 number, not a cell phone.
called and left a voicemail claiming they were "IRS filing lawsuit against you". For starters, if you are going to pretend you are the IRS - you might want to actually use real english sentences and say "This is the IRS, we are filing a lawsuit against you". Secondly, having the exchange come from the Netherlands instead of the US kind of kills your changes of fooling anyone. What a bunch of idiots.
