Called at 3:45pm, Nobody on the line, but a lot of other conversations going on in the background, i.e. a very busy phone bank, I think. I said hello 3 times and they hung up. Very annoying.
These guys call constantly asking for the wife. When I say she is busy and ask who is calling they hang up. Very rude, however last a gentleman called and actually apologized for the past callers. I asked if he worked for an agency collecting for the American Veterns of Missouri and he claimed he works for the Ameircan Veterns of Missouri. These companies are legal and don't need permission from the organization to collect funds. However the organizations they claim to fundraise for get only a small percentage of the donation you send. I suggest you send your donations diectly to the organization you choose. Most legit organizations to not use phone solicators.
I don't care if this is a legitimate charity (which I doubt), if you respond to them, you will be inundated by calls from other charities. Repeatedly calling, hanging up, hiring foreign-speaking solicitors is not the way any organization or charity should do business.
call came in on Sunday (oh, come on!) at 6:36pm, let it ring through... no message on voice mail... did not recognize area code as one of family, friends or trusted business.
