A scammer is always a scammer. I was a subscriber to AAAS but did not renew the subscription. I have an MSEE degree and there was too much info outside my field of interest. As far as I am aware AAAS does not engage in charity solicitations or robo call harassment and is most definitely not a charity. I strongly suspect someone stole the AAAS subscriber list and these calls are a complete SCAM!!! They just want your credit card number and personal information!!!
Called 3 times: December 15, 26 and 30 of 2014. I did not answer any of these calls and they did not leave a message. I called the number and verified that it was the AAAS.
This number appeared in my call log today, 11 Dec 2015. I did not reply. Thanks for the information here! AAAS fundraising called me several months ago while I was in a supermarket, and engaged me with great energy. They are definitely a worthy cause but (a) I am already a subscriber (member) and (b) on a tight budget. The caller had a terrific personality, but was obnoxiously relentless. Yeah, that does sound contradictory. Her personality kept me from hanging up on her right away but i was annoyed. I finally disconnected and felt guilty for two minutes. An unusual telemarketing call. Well, AAAS. They have access to expert psychological talent.
