A scammer is always a scammer. I was a subscriber to AAAS but did not renew the subscription. I have an MSEE degree and there was too much info outside my field of interest. As far as I am aware AAAS does not engage in charity solicitations or robo call harassment and is most definitely not a charity. I strongly suspect someone stole the AAAS subscriber list and these calls are a complete SCAM!!! They just want your credit card number and personal information!!!
Correct, it is AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science I think). They are super important for our day to day lives, honestly. They are super insistent and I'm on a budget as someone else here says. If I was a wealthy person, I'd happily throw $ 500 or $ 1000 at them.
My subscription recently expired and I decided not to renew it just because I have no time to read it at all.
They are annoying. Very, very annoying, but we (all) owe them a lot.
One (quite minor in perspective) of their accomplishments is the weekly publication of Science magazine. They also lobby in Washington for science advancement things, NHS, health, weather etc etc.

This is not an AAAS phone number. The AAAS name is spoofed on the caller ID. This is a robo boiler room operation faking an AAAS charity operation that does not exist.
