Good for you for blocking the ENTIRE area code! I presume that you are using the D***tone call blocker.
We have the D***tone blockers on our two business lines and on our home line.
In total, we have over 170 area codes blocked. Quiet here!!!
Please check Amazon for blocking phones - Panasonic phones can block 250 full telephone numbers such as 818 555-1212.
D***tone makes a blocker that will allow you to block entire area codes or portions of area codes and prefixes such as 818 555. Other callers will not be affected. Should you have friends or family in a blocked area code - no problem - simply "invite" their number into your blocker. We have the Panasonic phone on our home line and D***tone blockers on our two business lines and on our home line. These devices will STOP the criminals!!!
Actually Ron is correct. NEVER call these criminals back. If you do, your number will be pegged as a "live" number and your phone number will likely be sold to other criminals or used in other criminal endeavors.
Try this - simply don't answer unknown phone calls - ever! You have an answering machine - if the call is important the caller will leave you a message. You may also check Amazon for blocking telephones and blocking devices - some can block ENTIRE area codes - we have both.
George - The Do Not Call list is not a blocking device - and was never intended to block criminals from calling you.
Google the DNC list and educate yourself (and others) as to what the DNC actually does for you.
Another suggestion - simply NEVER ans unknown calls; they will leave a message if it's a legitimate call.
