Caller asked for me and call was forwarded to my line. I answered and they ask if I was ****. I said yes and then they hung up....not feeling good about this.
Just received a call from this number, he asked for the president of our company by name, I ask the caller what his name was and what the call was in regards to. His said his name was Mark Anderson (in a heavy Indian accent) and that he was a family friend. I told him the the man he was calling for was in a meeting and they caller said he would try back later.
I was on the other line and call rolled to my VM which would have confirmed my name. Ohio here. I'm wondering if these are calls where the caller is confirming employment for identity theft purposes? I just put freezes on my my accounts just in case.
Got a call at work, and they asked for me by name. I have heard that if you say the word "Yes" they can use that recording to say that you agreed to sign up for something. I asked who was calling and he said, in a very thick accent, "James Smith." I asked where from, and he said "Bank of America." And I said I do not have an account with them, and he said "So you are saying you are ___ ____?"
