Got a call from 339-205-1408, didn't pickup. I called back to hear a message saying "all our representatives are busy, if you received a call from us, we should be contacting you in the next 24 hours..."
Here is the tell tale sign it is a scam, a company name is NEVER said. Whenever you call a legitimate company the voice on the other side always states the name of the company in the greeting.
It is now AUGUST 2016 and they called again today. Also called on 6/18/16. BLOCKED, but they keep at it!
Since February 2015 we are now at OVER 600 of the "Alternative Energy" calls: both the 'Switch Your Electric Provider' calls AND the "Buy Solar Panels over the phone with a credit card" scam.
We got a call from this number again today at 12:42 pm. Please see my post of 28 Apr 2016. Normally it would have been blocked. Because our landline was being repaired it didn't get blocked and went to voicemail A message was left regarding lowering our electric bill.
This is a spoof number. There are companies out there that offer a "local presence" feature for their auto-dialing software. They have hundreds of numbers in area codes all over the US. Companies (including legit businesses) can use this software so that it appears they are calling from the same area code and you are more likely to pick up. My caller ID displayed the 339 number but the voicemail was saved under a different number. The company using this was not a scammer, but I'm not really into the deceptive practices used to get me to pick up their cold calls.
