Caller ID "New York NY" ... Feb 20 at 3:20pm Eastern time. This call was blocked after the first ring on my phone by a free service available to most Internet-based VoIP phone service users(I have Time Warner). Google "No more robocalls" to get more information.
This number has called my home a few times. The first time, I picked up and it started to ring at the other end, so I hung up immediately. I haven't answered the calls since then, but it doesn't surprise me to hear it's a phishing scheme.
Asked about my computer and I replied that my hard drive was taken out of my computer and NO I could not turn it on. Next time I'll ask for their IP address so that I'll see what they say to that. Tell them anything that will confuse them.
Once I kept them on the phone for 3 minutes while I was going "up the stairs" to turn on my computer, somehow
I just never got there.
Phoned me at 4 am. Said he was with windows technical support-urgent problem with my computer. Indian dialect. As I do not even own a computer at home I told him he was scum of the earth and wished him to rot in hell. He hung up.
