I get a call all the time from these idiots. Microsoft does not have a "windows" department that contacts consumers. These scammers want access to your computer in order to obtain the slightest information from ANY file anywhere on your computer that could contain something related to your financial accounts. They copy your files so fast you have no idea what was taken but they want information like hints for many or any passwords, numbers (such as pin numbers) or anything that could lead them directly to affecting your pocketbook. They often say they can prove there are errors on your computer by having you look at the event list (on the start menu). Don't believe them. The event list is simply a record of events good and bad that occured even when errors self-correct or are of no big deal. They use this just to scare you so you will give them remote access to your computer. It is a good way to open yourself up to idenity theft.
Tell these [***] dueche bags to bring up google. Search windows tech support phone scam. Ask them if the money they scamming people for is being used to fund terrorism. Tell them to believe in Jesus. Remind them Jesus loves them. Just got a call this morning. As soon as they heard my voice, they hung up!
i just had the same thing happen to me. I hung up after he said hello. When I went back on my phone a few seconds after hanging up, he was still there. I hung up again and got rid of him.
