This happen to me today as well. I will not retype what happened because everything that you already said was exactly what happened to me. I am reporting them to FTC.
as I read the comments on here I can see that my call was no different. I decided to google the number to see if I could find out where it came from. I cant understand where this guy gets the info from. He has my ssn, and Im positive he called my employer. I had a call from him before but I just let it go, but when he started saying i would go to jail and dont blame them for me getting in trouble I thought to myself collection companies cannot threaten people like this. How can we report this, to who do we report it to?
the man call leaves his name as allen cooper he is attorney and said my social security number ending with the last four number is that will have me arrested and put in jail ?? you need to return the call and speak with mrs allen cooper as you are being sued and willl soon put you in jail ?? have you arrested for failing to pay your bills ???? when i call back the third time he said you will not be contact again and hung up
