I received call from an officer claiming for the IRS Investigation Department Mike Anderson and Eric. They had explained that I committed fraud on my tax return and that they were going to freeze my bank accounts. They wanted me to go to my bank and get some type of voucher to show that I was willing to make some sort of restitution. I told them to call back and found it was scam.
Fraudulent Caller..claims to be from the IRS, states there is fraud associated with your name & that you need to call to avoid legal action...Strong foreign accent.
This Indian a-hole did the same to me. He said his name is Steven Bensbn and his agent number is 112356. i reported to the IRS. Tell your friends the same. The IRS does not call on on a cell with the number reading Unknown.
Caller with identified herself as Office Linda Watson of the Legal Investigation Department of the Internal Revenue Service. Said a tax fraud complaint was being lodged against me. Please contact them before it goes to the Cyber Claim Courthouse. I called back. The guy who answered sounded fishy. I said no disrespect, but you sound like a scam, could you please provide some evidence that you are not a criminal. He hung up.
Seems likely this is a scam. You can (and I did) report such activity at http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml
