This is a new "hang-up" number for my store. So I called it back and actually got a recording asking me to leave a message. I left one saying, "Please stop calling my place of business, thank you." and hung up. Let's see if they call back.
I did not recognize the number so I did not answer. Calls of these sorts always seem to increase right around lunch time. I'm wary of answering calls from unknown numbers these days as many seem to be geared at confirming whether the number is active. This is how they generate their call lists. Once sold it's the scammers that are constantly calling as the legit companies will normally get your number from a directory. If I could just hit a button and play the "number disconnected" tone I would. Or perhaps route the call to a specific mailbox that has it as the message. As it is I do not have that option so I simply hit the speaker button twice and insta-hand-up on them or let them go to voice mail. I guess this is a side effect of spam filters. Who can say?
