These guys have been calling me incessantly. After speaking at length with the first young man, he finally broke down and told me that it was a scam! I encouraged him to go to school. He said that he had already been to school and had graduated but couldn't find any other job. I told him that it was obvious that he was not happy doing that kind of work because he would have moved on to the next victim by then. I told him that if he found a job helping people rather than victimizing them, that he would feel better about himself and his family would be proud of him. He said that he knew I was right but he had to continue there until he could find something better. Waste of time though, of course, as the calls continue. The next call was from a woman who told me that she needed to speak with my husband about his pending arrest. I told her that thanks to the previous call, we had been alerted and my husband was already in jail. I told her how much I appreciated her kindness in informing us of the looming arrest and since I had to give all my money to the police, I had nothing left to give to her. She immediately hung up. Now I'm just getting non-stop voice mails from "Officer James Anderson".
No. The reason nothing can be done is that the scammers are located in India and as such beyond the reach o US law. The Indian government doesn't do much either. Protect yourself with a call blocker.

Same here. James Anderson called 6 times saying that tax and audit issues with the IRS could end in a warrant for our arrest. No names or specific information. THANK YOU all for posting - even thought it sounded like scam it had me worried.
