Just received the same message.  The saddest part is that they will probably get someone's personal information.  I wish there was a way to stop this!

Dear Scammers, I hope you are reading this, because I have a few pointers for you regarding your recent phone call.  First of all, you need a new script.  If you have the wherewithal to have all these different phone numbers that you use, why not get ahold of a phonebook so you could at least address your victim using a real name rather than just threatening whomever happens to answer?  Perhaps a bit of a lead-in stating that the tax return from 1998 shows that the victim owes X amount of dollars, or there was some question about back taxes that you would like to clear up.  Most people (I hope) would realize that they would have some inkling about trouble with the IRS somewhat before it came to the point of imminent arrest.  So, a bit of explanation (phony though it may be) would add a little legitimacy to your call.

You might also clear up exactly who will be doing the arrest.  The "County Sheriff's officer from your city" doesn't really fly.  Is it the County or the City officials I should be looking out for? (And clarifying a city would add a bit more authenticity as well). I would guess that if the IRS was looking to arrest me, they would send a Federal Agent to do the arresting.  So, a little clarification would be in order there to clear that up.  Also, I don't believe the IRS is usually referred to as IRS Headquarters.  Internal Revenue Service, or Treasury Department would sound much more believable.  Also remember that generally Government offices don't usually make phone calls at 7:57 AM.  Try to wait until after 9:00 when the office might be open.  Oh and one more thing in that regard- it's Veteran's Day, so I don't think most Federal offices would even be open today.

That said, there is one more thing you might want to think about.  How about having someone without a heavy foreign accent do the calling?  An Indian sounding man with a lot of background noise doesn't instill much confidence in the legitimacy of the call.  Not to mention the "Have a blessed day" sentiment at the end of the message doesn't really go along with the general tone of the call.  I doubt that many IRS agents end their calls that way.

I hate to keep going on about this and possibly hurting your feelings in any way, but one more thing you might keep in mind is that the area code you called from and the area code you requested I respond to are different.  I would think that if the IRS wanted me to get in contact with them that they would provide me with an 800 number, not an area code from N. Carolina.  Just a thought.

I assume that if I had responded to your call you would have asked for my Social Security number, or a credit card number or even my Mother's maiden name. Again, an anonymous call probably wouldn't entice me to give up that information, so that's kind of a fatal flaw in your scheme right there.

Anyway, I hope that YOU are soon arrested for impersonating a Federal Government Employee.  The consequences for that probably won't be too enjoyable.  Maybe YOU should be looking over YOUR shoulder for that County/City officer.  Just the thought that someone might actually fall for your nefarious scheme makes me cringe.

One more piece of advice-  why don't you try and find a legitimate job.  One that is respectable, and doesn't include making anonymous threatening phone calls?  How can you sleep at night??
On that note, rest assured that I will NEVER answer a call from a number I don't recognize, but I did find it amusing to have gotten your voicemail.  That (and many other) numbers have been blocked.

Have a blessed day...
