This company Maritz Research, called, and said they were calling on behalf of Bank of America, and I told them if Bank of America had any questions they should call me directly, I do not speak with 3rd party callers.. and I am writing a letter to Bank of America, and suggesting if they want to do a survey of their services, they should do it themselves.. I know their customer service agents are recorded, so they can critique them that way, they do not need to hire 3rd parties, and I am upset to know they may have given my phone number to someone I do not know.. no wonder there is so much identify theft around if the banks give or sell your information.. guess they need extra cash to compensate for the mess they have created on Wall Street.
OK, normally I get really pissed at these type of calls, I tracked down the company and just talked to a supervisor.
Turns out they do a big buisness in following up on how a complaint to a particular company you might call went.
In my case it was McDonalds, they wanted to know how my call to their 800 number with a complaint about one of the restaurants went.
So if you called a companies complaint line you will probably get a call to follow up to see if the operator you talked to was effective in helping you with the problem you had at their store/buisness.
Here is the page for the company, they were very nice and gladly told me which company (McDonalds) they were working for.
Received a call at 8:43 p.m. PT. Tuesday, April 28th. Caller ID said: Out of area.
I thought I'd see what it was.
The man on the other end said he was calling from Bank of America. He was doing a survey. I asked who he was and where he was calling from. He said he was calling from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I said I wasn't interested and hung up. Loony call. Why would a semi-failed banking conglomerate, getting tarp money from the government, and buying a crooked real estate sales company for too much money, and conned into buying Merrill Lynch by the government con men, have any money to be doing a survey?
I got a call from this number, and after reading other comments here, I called Bank of America ATM services earlier today (in response to an email of suspicious activity detected).
