This has been going on for more then a year, several in fact. Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan. Not much can be done since those are out of our jurisdiction.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Just received a call from this number (571) 526-0009
VA, USA . Saying he was officer Miller and if I dud call back or hear from my attorney that the troubles that would come up on me would be my fault.
THANK to all who wrote--I looked this up while I was on the phone with "Officer Jason Miller" (yeah, right), with a heavy accent, from 571-526-0009. He said an audit of 2008 and 2013 had concluded I had willfully and fraudulently underpaid by $2,686. For the willful misrepresentation they were filing a 6331H against me, which would place a lien on assets, bank accounts would be frozen and confiscated, my Social Security number would be blacklisted, I would be downgraded with the credit agencies, they would inform my employer, my passport would be seized, and there would be a federal tax lien. There would be a "non-bailable" arrest warrant issued in my name, and I would be picked up in 3 days, held in jail without bail, and on and on and on. This was my final notification, but since I was a law-abiding citizen...etc. He kept saying, "Okay?" And I would say, "No, not okay! Verify my identity, my social, my address, anything." He stated he couldn't, because the call was being recorded. I asked him to get to the point, and THAT'S when he mentioned an EFT I could make that would head this off. Once I found this online, I told him I knew it was a scam, and I would report them to the FTC. I'm embarrassed to admit I listened to this BS for 13 minutes....I'd like to have those 13 minutes back, thank you. It got my heart rate up, so I guess that's my exercise for the day....
Thank you all so much. I received that call as well. Must call Officer Miller with the IRS back this issue is time sensitive or else there will be grave consequences and the number he called from 1-571-526-0009 and it was constantly busy. Thanks for the information. 3-15-2015
