I am amazed that you would type anything in your computer that someone tells you to do over the phone. If you need tech support you call Microsoft. Not the other way around. I'm not even sure I would call them either. If having problems like you describe with a computer I do a restore system and either restore it to original factory settings or have it go back to an earlier system back-up to restore the computer to that point. I would never do anything on my computer some one tells me over the phone or in an email or any of the instant live messaging . That is how hackers get into your system and steal your information. I'm fairly lucky in that I don't have any real resources so hackers and thieves pretty much leave me alone.
someone just call me hi was so wired I didn't understand what hi was saying.
And at some point I told him not to call me any more and hi said that the Authority is going to call me.
Hi is calling from VA and I live in CT
(571-916-6077) Middle Eastern Accent called stating that he was from Microsoft Support and there were multiple errors on my computer showing on his screen that someone was trying to hack it using my IP address. He told me to go on my computer and turn it on. I asked him which information did he have on my computer since I don't know which computer he was looking at. He kept telling me the one I always go on. I went to my computer, but on the Kids account that I put multiple blocks on (last used on Sunday). I opened opened "Run" and he told me to type in: iexplore www.fastsupport.com
While I was in the middle of typing that my nephew (almost 2) shut down the entire computer. I explained it to the guy and he kept trying to rush me. The computer (not the main one I use, but the last one to be used) runs really slow, and had to install things while it was shutting down. While waiting for it to shut down completely I asked him if he had any other information since I'm still not sure which computer he was seeing these errors from. He only said "the one that I use the most". I then asked him where was he seeing these hacks come from, and he said, "Japan, Korea, Australia, and China". The caller became upset that my computer was still shutting down and called me a liar and that I was wasting his time.
That's when I flipped and told him that he's wasting my time by calling me without giving much information. I didn't lie about anything and that that's poor customer service. When I called him out for calling me a liar, he then said he never said that, so I told him I was done wasting more of my time and to never call my phone again. I later called the actual Microsoft Support line, and asked them if they can see any of those information that that man claimed he could see, and they said that was a lie.
Don't let anyone from this number get into your computer! Glad my nephew shut down the computer so i can search for that fastsupport phone call scammer.
OK. I am amazed than anyone would even start to do what this guy said. Do NOT ever do anything someone on the phone or online tells you to do with your computer. If you are having a problem with your computer and it isn't working correctly the easiest and "cheapest" fix is to do a system restore. You can do it yourself and it restores your computer to factory status. If you have files you don't want to lose you need to save your files to CD's before you do the system restore. All computers these days from Windows 7 and up have the capability of doing a system restore. You don't need to have to worry about some stranger having access to your computer at all. After you restore your system then you can install your files back on your computer from the saved files on the CD's or better yet save them to an external hard drive or subscribe to Microsoft Office 365 and you can save your files online. If something happens to your computer you still have your files available online if you do a system restore or wind up replacing your computer with a new system. Cost is 99.00 a year or 10.00 a month if you prefer to do it monthly. Can't beat it.
Someone called from this number. I have no idea. I don't recognize the phone number so I just don't answer. We have been answering a few here and there and the ones we answer we wind up blocking. If this one calls again I will consider blocking the number.
