I have received this call a couple of times. The first time I strung the guy along then hung up. He called back a few hours later I asked him who was he calling and he gave me our name and address. Scary, but I told him if he could find that coputer to let me know cause my husband took it and he owes me support, then i hung up. So I thought that was the end untill today. I did not answer but tried to call back but the call could not go through. OK can some one post the IRS scam number 845-213-1533 they answer, and the microsoft  one and tell everyone to call these numbers and drive them nuts. There hs to be something we can do to make it stop.

Just got a call from this number. Please DO NOT give him any information. When I told him to get a real job instead of scamming people, he said he was going to disconnect my license number. I asked him what my license number is and he said it's none of my business. I told him it was none of his business either and hung up.

My mom received a call today from this phone number.  The man has an accent & said he was calling from Microsoft.  He told her that her computer had errors on it.  He asked if she was near her computer, she replied no & she was busy right then.  He continued telling her to get on her computer it would just be a couple mins.  This didn't sound right to her, she told him she would look later when she had time.
A scam...Microsoft has too many operating systems & would never call someone due to errors.  Maybe, at most a letter in the mailbox but that also is highly unlikely.

I am amazed that you would type anything in your computer that someone tells you to do over the phone. If you need tech support you call Microsoft. Not the other way around. I'm not even sure I would call them either. If having problems like you describe with a computer I do a restore system and either restore it to original factory settings or have it go back to an earlier system back-up to restore the computer to that point. I would never do anything on my computer some one tells me over the phone or in an email or any of the instant live messaging . That is how hackers get into your system and steal your information. I'm fairly lucky in that I don't have any real resources so hackers and thieves pretty much leave me alone.
