This number keeps calling my cell phone!! no messages and hangs up after two rings!! this has been happening every couple of days for the last three weeks!!! Who the hell are they??????!?!?!
The Do-Not-Call List does work for legitimate companies, but there are loopholes. If you fill anything out online, they have a right to contact you regardless if you are on the list. Many people mentioned payday loans. Well many of the scam sites are owned by the same scam company, so when you apply their "affiliates" have the right to contact you until you tell them to stop. The calls with no answer are simply legitimizing phone numbers with an automatic dialer, so they can officially market to those numbers with a live person. It's simply cheaper. The best option is to not answer the phone, or try to block the number so the scammer hopefully thinks it is no longer a valid number. They will stop eventually. I received calls from the "payday loan collectors" and never answered. It stopped in 1 month. Calling them back yelling does not help, and they sell your number to the next scammer. The worst hangup calls are scammers from international area codes that want to get you so pissed that you call them back. Then they charge your phone up to $20 a minute, while keeping you on the line as long as possible. Just be very careful when you answer the phone or call these scammers back!
they keep calling and either hang up when i answer or ask what credit card i use and tell me i won a sweepstakes, no sweepstakes will ask for your credit card. scam scam someone please stop them
