They called and I didn't recognize the caller ID, so let the answering machine pick up.  Its a credit card interest rate reduction scam - message was to call us back, at 1-800-420-0565.  this is the only offer you'll receive.

I blocked the number and didn't return the call.

This is the latest from the "Rachel at Cardmember Services," a classic phishing scam. Rachel has morphed into "Beth." Here is the audio for the call:

Please return the call at 800 420-0565 and occupy these criminals' time as much as you can.  Since the government won't take any action to shut these crooks down, this is the only way we can discourage them.  Nuclear annihilation is much too kind.

Female voice - sounded automated - "We have reached this number in error.  Please disregard.  Good-bye."

Same here:  "We have reached this number in error.  Please disregard this call."  Only that, and then the eventual click of disconnect.

I, too, received a call from these idiots wanting to lower my credit card interest. Funny, I don't have any credit cards at all!!
