Number is being used as the call back number for a theft ring. This number will appear on your bank statement with various company names associated with it such as "It was fun" and "Facebook" but the number always rings busy when trying to contact them to dispute charges.
This number is owned by Level 3 Communications and is a Landline in Palo Alto, CA. Level 3 Communications refuses to acknowledge the fraud or shut the phone number down nor will they provide law enforcement any cooperation in tracking down the fraud. This makes them accomplices to the theft.
They managed to scam my account for over $1500.
On 4/06 they took out $750.24
On 4/02 they took out $119.56
On 3/31 they took out $500.51
On 3/30 they took out $250.12
On 3/24 they took out $50.04
On 3/23 they took out $30.30
I never authorized, signed, nor consented in any fashion to any one of the above mentioned withdraws from my account.
This is absolutely unspeakable and something needs to be done about it. Everything you do requires a credit card to be
attached to it. That needs to stop.
Please see CWG40's posts above also. I recommend filing a fraud dispute with your bank or CC holder and also filing reports with the FTC & CFB.. You also need to file a fraud complaint with local LE also.
