I rec'd a call stating the same thing as "J". He stated he worked for Windows and when asked the name of his company he said "DC Repair" who I'm writing to as well. I don't have caller id and I asked for the name of his company and phone number. He asked why and I stated I would be passing this onto the police and told him to become more ethical. He hung up...no big surprise here.
This number called my home and told me that my windows computer has been recieving 200 megabites of maleware, when i informed him that people in my home only have apple computers, he said "Oh" and then hang up...
Just also got this call he's called probably six times this week and every time I call back it tells me if you're receiving this call from Canada please hang up and block this number like seriously there's nothing wrong with my computer first off it has virus protection on it there's no malware and I have all Apple products like how stupid are these people to think that they can hack our computers... I wonder if there's anyway that we could get someone to go shut the business down like I'm getting really tired of these phone calls
My folks just received a call from this #. Same schpeal as he told you all above/below. Sounded like a total scam and I asked this person where he got our # as this call sounded very suspicious and he hung up immediately. Never let people like this get access to your computer!!! If sounds like a rat..smells like a rat... It's a rat!!
DItto to all the other reports here. Some dude with an East Indian accent said he was calling about my computer on behalf of Windows. Being in a hurry I just laughed and hung up -- should have asked for his name etc. and persuaded him to hang up.
Question: anyone know who do you call to report this nonsense?
