I rec'd a call stating the same thing as "J". He stated he worked for Windows and when asked the name of his company he said "DC Repair" who I'm writing to as well. I don't have caller id and I asked for the name of his company and phone number. He asked why and I stated I would be passing this onto the police and told him to become more ethical. He hung up...no big surprise here.
Braindead losers thought it would be smart to call at 7:50 AM on a Saturday morning. If you are in a third-world country, you should be restricted from the privilege of telephone service. No one in the civilized world wants to talk to you anyway.
I spoke French so they never got anywhere so they hung up BUT they're phoning Ottawa, Ontario at 8:18 in the morning, Friday. So who does that? Only a friend.
Got a call from these idiots today at 7:12 am (I'm in the GTA). I didn't recognize the number so I didn't pick up. There was no voice message left.
Thanks for others who posted here. Looks like these are scammers who are preying on the vulnerable. I've heard of this PC Repair Scam before. In some cases, they claim to be from Microsoft. They call and say that you have a virus on your computer and offer to fix the issue. For those people who agree to get their PC fixed, the scammers ask them to download a remote control software (spyware and malware) to gain access of personal and sensitive information. They may also ask for the person's credit card numbers. Do not even entertain such calls.
