I got these people to stop calling me by constantly calling them back and harrassing them. I did it like every three hours for like 10 min. I havent heard from them for a while but I plan on getting them back in the middle of the night just to make sure.
Received two calls from (718)395-9477, person is claiming to be from the "United States Financial and Treasury Department" and I have been selected to receive a $7000 grant that I do not have to pay back.... But they will not provide a URL or Phone number that can be verified as a US government number. They will not use my banking information but want to use some other method to transfer the money... I shut him down at that point, and started pushing on getting verification he was calling from the US Govt. Finally had him hang up on me after I demanded that he provide verifiable external information on the government agency and the program that I won this grant from.... He was offended that I called him a scam and that I didn't just believe him when he said he was from the government.
He was offended, can you believe the b@ll$ on these @$$h0l3$...
All of my numbers are on the Do Not Call Registry, And I still got this call twice... these are Criminals not Telemarketers. The are probably random dialing in area codes hoping to find victims that will fall for their acts.
If the number was unavailable before it is back up now, called it back and they answered with Federal treasury... so I hung up and decided to post here and on Facebook to warn my friends just in case.
These people are scammers claiming they are US Government, but then I asked this guy and he told me he's calling from Jamaica. They even answer the calls if you call back, then frighten you that a large phone bill will be added to your phone account, which is BS.
