I have now received 3 calls a day for the last week from this number. Verizon Wireless will do nothing about this and they will not block the number. Do not get VW, they should lose business over their lax concern for their customers.
I spoke with a gentleman who stated that no one from that extension called my number. I told him that I receive at 3-4 calls a day and the caller does not leave a message. He asked me for my name and and then asked me for my SS#. I asked him if he was stupid or did he think I was that dumb to give an unknown caller my personal information. He proceeded to quote 4 numbers and asked if the numbers were the last 4 digits of my SS#. The digits were not mine. I just slammed down the phone. If this is the student loan people they are calling someone who never had a student loan. If i receive any calls today I'm reporting them to my agency. I also work for the Federal Government.
# 1-718-475-3725 Called me again just today on my cell. Didn't answer it because it was a number I did not know. From reading all of these, I don't understand why a Student Loan debt of education, I am currently a High school student that has not taken out any student loans. So... Scam?

I received a call from 718-475-3725 from Amanda stating that she was from Pioneer Employment Reference Inc. She asked for a woman that had lived in our home years before we bought it. She said the woman gave my business as a work reference. Since I am self employed, have never put my business in the local directory and do not hire employees, I knew this not to be true. I have previously called the person she was asking information on before because she has credit bills and she told me she has never given out my number. My number is listed in the phone book as is hers.
When I asked Amanda who wanted the work reference she said that she could not tell me. She said that it is just listed. She said she was given a list for Employment Reference verification. I asked her if she worked for a collection agency and she did not answer. I asked her 2 more times and she still would not answer.

She told me that she would take the number out of the system.
I called back to the 800 number. A Dave answered. He said the was calling from Pioneer Recovery Inc. I explained the situation to him. He said that he was sorry. He said that he too would remove the number from the file and said the 3339 number? So Amanda had not removed it. Very irritating. He said that he originally got the file in 2001 and how has it back 2008.
I told him I was documenting this, would be following it up with a letter and said that continued calls would be considered harassment. I told him that I did not being lied to about company name as Pioneer Employment Reference Inc.
