I answered call since caller ID showed a name & phone number. I said hello twice loud & clear and the caller stayed totally silent, so I hung up. I too reversed the call as Mac wrote as well, to my surprise their voice mail was full. I have blocked the phone number.
Americans receiving calls from these 'SPOOFED' New York numbers 718-658-7748 and 718-588-6595 should contact their local police department, Attorney General, U.S. Attorney's office, telephone company, Federal Trade Commission, and their members in Congress on Capitol Hill to file complaints regarding 'SPOOFED' calls. Some numbers that you try calling back aren't working numbers. Calling the 718-588-6595 this morning is someone's number that's been used to spoofed hoping people will answer their phones. Its a scam to con people out of money. I feel sorry for the person name Glady Tolentino because criminals are using her telephone number as a scam to 'SPOOF' U.S. residents. There are currently 3 bills in the House and the Senate to regarding this serious issue.

They call on my cell phone. No one talks when I answer, it must be a Robo-Call. I bet It is a scam or ISIS!
If ANYONE calls you and says your computer needs repairing, it's a scam. They tell you to type in a "control" web site that gives them complete control of your computer. Then they install a "sniffer" or "tracker" that looks for your Name and Passwords you use as you are doing any banking or purchases. of course then they STEAL your money, or purchase things on your credit card, etc.
I just hold my phone away from my mouth and and tell the fictitious police officer to, "Start the trace now, it's them again."
The best way to slow these calls:
1. Get an answering machine for your phone line.
2. Go to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_information_tones
3. Scroll down to the big chart.
4. Pick a SIT (Special Information Tones), I use "Intercept," it tells computerized telephone dialers this number has been disconnected. You can play these tones over your computer.
5 When you record your out going message (OGM), record the tone at the beginning of your OGM.
Now any call from a computer (a Robo-Call) should think your number has been disconnected and take your number off of their list. This may confuse your friends for a while, but mine have gotten use to it.
