Well, if you have several accts they will call every number listed on the accts, each six times for each acct and each number and it IS legal. Answer and see what's going on if you want the calls to stop.
Received 9 calls in one day - no message - from number which once I read this forum and eventually called back was Comenity's collection.
Glad I called them back. They had me signed up for some sort of auto-renewing 'special' shopping membership for an account I didn't know I had with no purchases or transactions on it. Since I had never seen either a paper bill or an e-statement (although they send me plenty of advertisements) I had no idea that I was supposedly behind payments and late fees and interest charges for some stupid auto-renewing annual service. Very, very scammy.
So, if you are getting calls from this number and you have no idea why, better call and look into it. Now it's my responsibility to write a letter of dispute to request that they fix my credit report for an error of their own creation. Great.
My situation is exactly the same as yours. They start calling at 8 a. m. and continue till 10:00 p.m., calling about every hour! I don't owe anything and never heard of that card. It's HORRIBLE. They use numerous, similar numbers. I'd like it to STOP!
I'm not going to repeat everyone's comment. Does each state have to have a class action suit or does the California one work for all? I want their phone numbers so I can call them 12 hours a day too.
