A man with a very 'Howard Cunningham -from Happy Days' voice answered after a brief delay stating he was from the local first responders something or another trying to raise money for local first responders, then continued to say that gifts were given for $100, $75, $50 and $35, a finished with it being tax deductible complete with a thank you note. then he asked, "how much can I put you down for?" I responded with, "I'm not interested", and I hung up.
How do we report scammers like this?
Said they were calling for contributions for first responders in the area. I asked him if he was a paid solicitor. He then repeated why he was calling. I asked again if he was a paid solicitor and he then hung up.
They were calling my cell number for contributions for first responders in the area. Call ID, most likely spoofed, said Barnsville, OH. I was expecting an Ohio call so I answered and requested to be placed on their Do Not Call list and then hung up. Very coincidentally I received a call from an unknown Milwaukee, WI number, 414-800-2544, within a minute of hanging up on this number, Needless to say both numbers are now on my block list.
