A man with a very 'Howard Cunningham -from Happy Days' voice answered after a brief delay stating he was from the local first responders something or another trying to raise money for local first responders, then continued to say that gifts were given for $100, $75, $50 and $35, a finished with it being tax deductible complete with a thank you note. then he asked, "how much can I put you down for?" I responded with, "I'm not interested", and I hung up.
How do we report scammers like this?
Called my personal cell. Said he was calling for contributions for first responders in the area. I asked him if he was a paid solicitor. He said Yes, he is calling from a fundraising company called United Support. I told him we had a family policy not to contribute to any phone solicitors. He was very polite and wished me well.
