A female (no unusual accent) introduced her name (I have forgotten it) and the company (something about Fraud somethingrather) and immediately asked for my name. I was confused why she would need my name. She sounded very sure of herself, and like she simply needed it for confirmation...however, when you call my cell number and right away call me sir...I know that you do not really know who I am... I hesitated giving my name because I didn't understand why she could possibly need it for beneficial reasons. She ended with "that's ok, thank you." when I said that I wasn't willing to give my name. Definitely knew then that it couldn't have been that important! Odd, though, that it was a different company name and tactics, but definitely same number as the many pages of complaints against this number
I checked with the fraud department with Citimortgage and they stated "This is a legitimate Citigroup line, but unsure about what solicitation they may be handling."
I just got this ph so why are these weird #'s calling. The only way I can think of that they may have gotten my # is through a modeling website. I don't give my # to everyone just people that appear real and have been on the site for a long time with lots of friends and real experience and comments from people. (model mayhem). I give my # to a carefully selected few. But I will say this... Since I added my ph # to my twitter acct I've been getting weird calls. And that was just this week! Hmmm... could twitter have been selling my ph # to these companies? hmm...Not Twitter, right? Makes me really think....
female whom was very hard to understand called, and asked for me. i asked her who she was, never verifying it was me, she said something i couldn't understand and then i asked her what company she works for. She promptly hung up on me. I hid my number calling it back and received a busy signal every time.
I would like to know how they got my number.
