Got a call on 2/17/2009. Recording said Citizen's Bank. Called them next day, said there was unusual activity on my account. Someone charged plane tickets to Tunisia, $800 to the New York Times and other charges. Got home and found out that the wife's coworker had the same thing happened to her. She said Citizen Bank was hacked into, anyone hear of this?
Got a call from this number 781-655-2000 today. It was the Card Risk Prevention Department of Citizens Bank. They told me that someone had pulled $600 out of my checking from an ATM. They had my pin, but I still had my card. There are ATM frauds out there. They closed the card and issued me a new one that I won't recieve for 5 days or so. I also had to go to my local branch and file a claim and fill out an affidavit. Still waiting to see what happens.
I received this phone call also and it was a female. She was saying she have noticed that I purchase something online a couple of times, and I said I did and she asked me for my last 4 SS digits and birth date which I gave her.I thought it was from my bank, but it's 9:30 pm and I do not think my bank would call me that late at night.
I was careless and didn't think of anything fishy at that time until I hung up and called them back. When I called them back, there was a voice mail from a retirement services a lady saying there hours.
Same thing just happened to me. Caller said she was from Citizen's Bank and my card had been compromised to the tune of $900. She told me they were canceling card and would issue a new one.
Received phone call march 25,10 @ 1PM EST. Said my card had been compromised to a total of $900. A new card will be issued. Tried to return the phone call but it was to a retirement facility.
