What specifically do you mean by "feel for it"? What info did you give?

Received (2) calls from (804) 271-1318 stating they were from Health Program thru Anthem giving me a reference #. Was told to call (877)309-4886 and refer to reference # when calling. I called and after I gave the reference # they wanted me to give them more info. Told them no and for them to stop calling me. Then I hung up. When I called the phone number on the back of my Anthem Health Insurance card (800#) which is for Member Services, spoke with someone, gave them the reference # and she told me – “That reference number is an intake claim # for services in 2013”. I was told there were no notes on my account indicating that anyone had called. These two (2) numbers I listed above are NOT Anthem phone numbers. Scammers.
"A health program representative from Anthem BC/BS for (the place we are employed at). They called twice a day for a week on my cell (a number Anthem was never given) saying they needed to talk to me regarding "time sensitive personal healthcare issue - that this was not a sales call". I told the guy that I was going to call Anthem and see what they had to say, he said well, they will just refer you back to us - I said "great, I'll be talking to you in a little bit" he hung up. I called Anthem and we did not have anything that we should have been called on and the "reference number" that you are supposed to refer back to when calling the number was bogus. This appears to be a phishing scheme.
I recieved two calls so far today from this number. I am concerned only because I am very ill and actually had a sonogram come back bad today and had to have a cat scan scheduled...I am afraid if I don't answer I could be denied my ct scan but I don't believe these ppl are legitimate cuz as you all have said we should not have to call a third party and give a reference number. I blocked the number after reading these. Thank you everyone.
I've been receiving the calls as reported above twice a day for a week. (804) 271-1318 calls and leaves a message stating they have time sensitive information for me and a confirmation number. I've just ignored the calls since when I googled the number, it was not related to BCBS and listed as a phishing scheme.
They're at it again. They called my company issued cell phone. I've been getting phone calls for another person who had this # and told them this is not "X" and not to call again. They immediately called back. That's when Googled the # they called from and found it's a scam.
