It is from BCBS, I have an MRI scheduled and they gave me the confirmation number and gave me all of the local places I could have the MRI done at plus the average cost.  They help to try to reduce your cost for the procedures.  They are the imaging department from Colorado but the number shows up as Va.

This is not a scam/hack/ etc.  This is your health insurance company calling (Anthem BlueCross) verifying that an imaging was requested and authorized. For me it was an upcoming MRI. They provide you with a confirmation number in case the place/billing doing the service states it was not authorized. You can provide the confirmation number and all is right in the world. They do not request any private information, but verify. It's a pretty limited phone call in order to just give you the confirmation number.

THIS IS NOT A SCAM!!! After I read a few responses I blocked the number, then for some reason kept reading. Thankfully I found the most recent responses.  I called Anthem first, and they confirmed these people are legit! They go more into detail at https://www11.anthem.com/imaging/ . I took a gamble and am glad I did. The original MRI was going to cost $2,248 (before coverage). But they found a place that was actually closer to me (using a different hospital) and the cost was $357 (before coverage).  They do a bunch of different procedures too for savings, just not bloodwork.  If you could have a savings of more than $300, that is how you get put on their call list.  Also, they give you your authorization code to use, which is good for a month.

Received 2 calls from this number. Registered on my phone as being from Roanoke Va.
Called my insurer & was told that they have shoppers who may call to "inform" you of cheaper alternative places to get a scheduled procedure.
But there was NO note on my record of such calls. Also the calls would come from California not VA.
