I just refinanced my house to rid of this HELOC, (& it was HELL)  so I can get away from BofA & it was coming due in a month..   but still did not answer the call, as I do not trust BofA for anything.. luckily they left no message.   They have my email, they can send written correspondence.

Got a call from this number and I answered the call.  Why?  I wasn't thinking clearly at that moment I suppose.  Anyway, I answered the phone and a woman asked to speak to me, by name.  I asked her what she wanted.  She said she was calling from Bank of America and needed to talk to me about an account.  I asked what the problem was.  She asked for my full name,  and complete address.  I told her by her calling me, she should already have that information.  Then she asked for my SS #.  I said no.  She asked again for my full address.  I said no.  She kept saying that she could give me no information until I verified who I was by giving her the information that she asked for.  I told her that I had no idea who she was and that I felt leary of giving her any of my information.  She got a bit huffy with me and said she was calling from B of A and that it was in my best interest to give her my information.  I told her that I would check with my bank about the call and she hung up.  I did go into my bank and asked about the call.  They had no idea and said the number is no one that they are familiar with.

Protect yourselves from these SCAMMERS -- trying to get your personal information (they are not with your bank).

Call went unanswered, I looked the number up like I do any other number I don't recognize. 800notes pays off as usual.

Like other people reporting, I have a HELOC with BoA.  It is scheduled to begin principal repayment next Spring.  I have received several letters to the effect. I don't know what they're all hot and bothered about, trying to talk to me. I don't care about the change; I'll pay the bills when they come.

I suspect this is a legitimate call. But the possibility exists that they got a hold of a list of customers that happened to have an expiring HELOC.

They sent the letters; surely they have a number on them. (I threw mine away already.)  Just ignore this call and call them back on the number they sent out.  If it's real, they will finally get to speak with you.  If it's not, then maybe that will be a short conversation.

For me, I don't care!! I don't want to talk to you. Stop harassing me!!  Send me the bills just like you have been for the last 15 years. I'll pay them in the same manner.
