I too over the past week+ have received over 15-20 phone calls (primarily hang-ups, almost every 2 hrs between 8am-7p, M-F) from 816-420-1012 (of Missouri) and yes, I have received at least one voice msg daily from CitiGroup--Sears who mention a name (that is not mine), as well as a personal key code to enter. Yes, I agree this is very frustrating and hope that it stops. I finally got a live person on the toll-free number 866 469 1354 to report this nuisance and to request my number to be stricken from their computer bank. The person at this 866 number, noted it would be deleted and apologized. I did not give her any additional person info on me. I gave her a review of what had transpired the past several days--she noted she does not know what is going on and that they have call centers all over the US and she could NOT confirm where these phone calls have come from. Also: after a few days of this, I thought to call that number directly in Missouri (one evening) and got to speak to a man (I believe) who was very rude and belligerent with me (cursing and threatening ME)--and I didn't even do anything--other than ask him why someone from this number keeps calling me?! We'll see if this stops after my phone report of 2/17/11. Today, my local police referred me to get a cease and desist order. And to report to FTC (identity theft). Additionally I should submit some form of "block my number" from a company that provides this service.
