Daily calls from this number.  A recording tells me they want to increase my credit score.  My credit score is above 800 so who the hell do they think they are?

Called 3:50 pm EST - left noo message.  They do not leave a message for two reason: 1) robo-caller and violating the Do Not Call registery, which is a joke AND 2) hoping "you" will call them, then they have license to call you w/o violating the law.

This will never stop because there is no enforceable law; when the few companies are caught...the fines go to the FTC.  I went to the Do Not Call site to verify my number and this is the message - our tax payer dollars at work.
"Due to system difficulties, your request was not processed. Please try your request again later or call 1-888-382-1222 to submit your request by phone. We are sorry that we are unable to process your request at this time. "

The DNC List is not useless.
The DNC List is not a joke.
The Do Not Call Registry is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC List is NOT a call blocking service.

The DNC list can help stop calls originating from legitimate, registered telemarketers who have paid to subscribe to the list.
Your calls were not from legitimate, registered telemarketers. Therefore, the DNC list cannot stop those calls.

InfoThe DNC list does not automatically block calls. It is NOT a call blocker! Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to telemarketers who registered their businesses with the FCC, and who pay a fee for the list.  The DNC list administration is supported by these fees.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, some companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors and certain nonprofit organizations, but these organizations usually have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those telescum are not registered, do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
It can stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and spamming telemarketers!

Fact: If a caller does not leave a message, the call is NOT a violation of the DNC rules!

Fact: The DNCL itself has no enforcement authority - they forward complaints to the appropriate agency.

Fact: There is no significant drain on your tax dollar because the DNC is funded by the fees they charge registrants.

The FTC and top communications companies are meeting, to determine what they can do to stop robocalls and other illegal calls.  Here is a link to a frequently updated page, showing the history and progress of their initiatives:

http://www.phonehelp.2truth.com/initiatives.html

The following page states the FCC's DNC Registry applies to both intrastate and interstate telemarketing calls:
https://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/telemarketing

However, to confuse things, this page states the DNC Registry applies only to interstate telemarketing calls:
https://www.donotcall.gov/faq/faqbusiness.aspx#AnlsubPeriod

Remember, the FCC's Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers.   To report spammers and scammers, visit the FTC site, at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

Read the above sentence again.
Here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report phone scams, or learn more about them.

First, look elsewhere on this site for an Article, entitled "Where to Report Phone Crime".  (It may appear in the column to your right).
