Please be aware of this company. It is a fraud. They will call claiming they are a colleciton company, asking for money or you will be served with a court notice. They will claim your are charged with check fraud etc... 1. A collection company needs to send you a written letter first. 2. No one can go to jail due to an unpaid loan.
When you receive this call: 1. ask for the case number, which they will not provide because it does not exist. 2. ask for company's (that they are claiming you owe the money to) license number to operate in your state. They will not provide the information because it is completly illegal.
I reported the number to the authorities but little can be done. Hopefully this message will help to stop the scam!!
No, they CAN NOT do anything if you ignore them. But, if you ignore them, trust me when I tell you; it isn't going to stop them from calling you and, when they can't get anything from you, selling your information to the next bunch of thieves at the crackhouse next to their own. I've been putting up with these ridiculous calls for about 5 years now and I have NEVER responded to their threats, let alone even answered the phone or called them back. Apparently, these idiots are hoping I'll hit my head and get amnesia so they can convince me I owe something that I DO NOT OWE!
So, NO MATTER WHAT THREATS they put to you; remember, debt is NOT A CRIMINAL OFFENSE, so they can't have the sheriff come get you or put you in jail etc. I can't even begin to imagine how overcrowded our already overcrowded prisons would be if everyone who was delinquent on a debt was put in jail!
I received a call today and stated the same thing I owed them money. Where the people are getting these number from? I am very tired of them threaten me. I DON'T THEM ANY MONEY AND I DIDN'T ANSWER THE PHONE BUT THEY LEFT A MESSAGE.
