Left a insane message yesterday for my minor son, had his first name right but killed the last name saying he owed medical bills. My son recently was treated by CHOP doctors at Princeton Medical Center and RWJ doctors in New Brunswick. I called both and my son's account has been paid in full. I believe some under paid biller or clerk at one of these institutions is probably selling info to friends
They left a robo message saying they want to talk to XXXXXX, or XXXXXX's spouse. Never said why they want to talk to anybody, or, more importantly, who the heck they are. The messages said press one if you are this person, or press three if you are not this person. How can a message like that be activated by pressing 1 or 3.?
A local hospital that used to be a pretty good place has gone rogue over the past year or so. They bought up every private medical practice they could get their hands on, they forced all their employees, including those who were "bought," to submit to being injected with flu shots, to get money from the feds, they started charging huge fees in addition to the fee for having a test or seeing a doctor, just for using the "hospital facilities" even though you are going to the same doctor office you have been going to for years, they started having their "employees" -- that is, your doctor and the intake nurse when you go for an appointment quiz you about matters that are not relevant to the visit, like "Have you had "your" flu shot?" so that they can gather a data base about people for the feds, and they have inflicted horrifying intimidation and harrassment tactics via their billing, sending out bills that say you are not covered and demanding you pay them an amount they are not allowed to bill for. They did that to me three times, and my husband got intimidated, and we paid them a huge amount, with their promise they would adjust it when they got things straightened out with the insurance, but now they play dumb and will not deal with it, so I am not paying them some outstanding bills until they do refund our overpayment. They are using this outfit in New Jersey to make these stupid calls, and if and when you pay this outfit, finrec, they say it will get posted sooner than if you pay the hospital directly, but months later, after you have paid them, the payment is still not credited. Oh, yes, and in some cases, they do not send you a bill at all, but just have this finrec outfit send you a collection notice. That has happened several times to my husband and me. What a sleazebag outfit, and it is a huge corporation! Meanwhile, they have all these hokey ads plastered all over the local media trying to recruit patients, and trying to make themselves look like they "care" about us.
They call everyday, never leave a message. I do not pick up the phone for these types of calls that come up "unavailable".....also, this morning, 9:00 AM on a Saturday.....they called, once again, and this time only let the phone ring twice and then they hung up.
Picked up by accident this morning, because my husband was expecting a call from his daughter in England, and we never know what the caller ID is going to have on it...Some dopey woman demanding whether I was some utterly mangled version of my name. If they don't know who they are calling, they can go away. I hung up, did not say a word.
We get these calls too...you say this is happening in NJ.....well, it is happening in PA as well.....Our country is in big trouble. Thanks for your lengthy explanation - stay well - pray for good health so we don't have to deal with all this.....when I was younger, we had a Dr. who came to visit our family with his little black bag and would sometimes not charge or take some of my grandma's homegrown produce as payment....we've come a long way since then...I suppose technological advancements have helped saved or prolonged lives, but at what cost?
